We are off!

We woke up early and rolled on up to the airport. It was a long journey...down to LAX first, then eight hours to Papeete. We were greeted by Jerry and Jock and whisked off to our hotel and a delicious dinner. The guys decided that it would be best to stay at the hotel the first night, then load the boat the next day.

About Me

My photo
Lisa
It's been a long journey since I left Long Beach so long ago. One of my childhood dreams was to travel the world, but never really expecting that I would get much farther than Hawaii. Well, as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for! I have had the fortunate opportunity to see many wonderful parts of the world and now I am traveling to the South Pacific for the first time. I am full of anticipation and ready for the challenge and adventure. I am going to miss my girls, but I know that they are at an age now to try some adventures of their own. I've been studying French for three years and although I got to practice while I spent a month in Paris in 2008, I wasn't very advanced. I'm looking forward to using my French a lot in French Polynesia and seeing if I can use this opportunity to improve. I really don't know what to expect, so I'm keeping an open mind and looking forward to the slower pace of life. Take this journey with me, if you like, and I'll see you when I return!
